Pet Licenses

Dilworth City ordinance requires all pet owners to license their dog(s) and/or cat(s) each calendar year.  Licenses are valid January 1 to December 31 each year and should be renewed as soon as possible the beginning of each year.

License cost is $5.00 each and are available at City Hall during normal business hours.  You must also provide the pet’s current rabies vaccination record to be copied for city files.  All dogs and cats four months old or older are required to have a rabies vaccination.  For your convenience, a pet license application form may be accessed below.  This form should be submitted to Dilworth City Hall, along with the $5.00 license fee and copy of the current rabies vaccination record.  Upon receipt, the city will issue a collar tag for the pet.

If your pet happens to get away and is wearing a Dilworth license tag and is picked up by the Police, they will try to contact you before taking your pet to the pound.  The pound used by the city is the F-M Animal Hospital located at 3803 8th Street South, Moorhead, MN. Phone 218-236-9059.

The Dilworth Animal Control Department (Police Dept.) will be enforcing our pet ordinance and animals found without a current license are subject to impound.  Pet owners will have to pay an impound fee, $25.00 for the first offense, $50.00 for the second offense, $75.00 for the third offense, $100.00 for the fourth offense and so forth.  There will also be boarding fees at the F-M Animal Hospital.

If you have any questions regarding the licensing of your pet, please contact City Hall at 218-287-2313.
